My husband and his exwife obtained a sba loan in 1999,the year of hurricane Floyd, they divorced and the loan went into default,they are garnishing his social sercurity check,his payroll check,and his exwifes disability payments, someone bought the house out of foreclosure,and the exwife is renting the house from the buyer. I’m just wondering since the house was bought, should my husband an his ex be released from this debt?

Small business contracting programs include efforts to ensure that certain federal contracts reach woman-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses as well as businesses participating in programs such as 8(a) and HUBZone.
If approved, it might take between 30 and 60 days to close the loan and receive funds. The length of this time requirement will be determined by the use of funds and what collateral is required. I have had an SBA loan for three years which allowed me to purchase the property by business occupies. I have always paid on time. I want to now sell my business and property but that is a hefty price tag so I want to sell only the business and hold the real estate for a while, until either I can sell it or the new business owners can purchase it. And if you don’t qualify for an SBA loan, there are other faster, more accessible ways to borrow money.
The total number of loans given out in 2016 is overwhelmingly dominated by the general SBA 7a loans. The trend is the same with the total amount of money borrowed by loan type. The microloan program, which focuses on loans of $50K or less, is the one big difference when comparing total number of loans to the total amount of money borrowed. The amount each program loaned is shown in the graph below.
The government-guaranteed SBA loan program works with banks to offer low interest rates and long-term repayment. But the process is time-consuming, and the requirements are strict. I will be receiving a 1099-C from my bank for the amount that they did not get reinbursed from the SBA on my defaulted loan. The bank has indicated that the 1099-C is in process. Will the SBA ALSO send me a 1099-C for the amount of the difference? Just checking.
