Credit isn’t the only factor that lenders look at to decide if you qualify, though. They’ll also consider your monthly revenue, how long you’ve been in business, and what industry you’re in. i defaulted on an SBA loan back in 2011, in 2012 they took my home as collateral. They would not so an OIC, and they got much less with the sale of the house than I offered. I have never heard a word from them since they took my house. I never received a 1099C either, or they mailed it to the house they foreclosed on and it was never forwarded to me. My question is, if I buy another home can they put a lien on that home if I own it with someone else? I have never heard from them, no garnishments of wages either.

FICO® LiquidCredit® Small Business Scoring Service℠, (or FICO® SBSS℠ score) is one of the three main business credit scores. It’s the one credit score all business owners should know, but many have never heard of it because, until now, it’s been hard to get your hands on it. Banks aren’t required to disclose that they use the FICO® SBSS℠ score and very little information exists about it online. More lenders are using it because it helps them make faster, more accurate lending decisions. This means they can make decisions in hours, not days.

While technically SBA CAPLines can be issued as stand alone products, typically these are only offered to borrowers in conjunction with a traditional SBA 7(a) loan or a CDC / SBA 504 loan. Very well qualified borrowers or those businesses that have the potential to bring in a great deal of other business to a bank may be able to find a lender willing to issue a stand alone CAPLines line of credit.

Under the Community Advantage Program, the SBA offers the same expedited application and approval process that comes with an SBA Express loan but will guarantee 85% of the loan for loans up to $250,000. Because you have strong credit but your revenue doesn’t quite meet the requirements of most online lenders, consider Fundbox or a business credit card. Business credit cards are a solid option for ongoing working capital and provide quick access to cash, spending rewards and sign-up bonuses. If your business has unpaid customer invoices, you can take a cash advance against those invoices through Fundbox, although you’ll likely pay a higher APR than you would with a business credit card.

For young businesses that deal with a lot of customer invoices, consider taking a cash advance against those outstanding receivables. Both BlueVine and Fundbox offer the financing option commonly known as invoice factoring. If you have at least $120,000 in annual revenue, BlueVine offers up to 85% of your total invoices, up to million. Fundbox does not require a minimum revenue amount, but you must have at least six months of activity with a compatible online accounting software such as QuickBooks. Fundbox advances you 100% of your total invoice but only up to $100,000.

For-profit lenders are reluctant to issue loans to anyone who does not have a strong credit report and financial history. That is not the case with government small business loans. Obviously, a decent credit report is important, and you will have to follow the guidelines regarding the repayment period and the interest rate set by the government, but usually the interest rates charged by government loans are lower than those you could expect in the private sector.

Approximately 900 Small Business Development Center sites are funded through a combination of state and SBA support in the form of matching grants. Prior to submitting your application, it is important to consider the documents you’ll need to compile. We require your business’s three most recent bank statements and our one-page application to get started. We had a small business loan and the bank liened all our property, including personal home and rental house. We had to file Chapter 7 personally because of securing our business debt. We have been discharged for several years but the liens remain. The bank was repaid their 25% of the business loan by sale of our business property. The SBA guaranteed the 75%.
